Creative Re/Frame understands the shifting values and priorities of their Millennials and Gen Z students as they prepare for work in the emerging creative economy. Reflecting worldwide trends, they want jobs that are economically viable, meaningful and impactful. As witnesses to increasing economic disparity and the effects of climate change, it is clear to this generation that business models based only on profit are outdated. The next generation is calling for a shift in the profit-driven paradigm, moving toward more inclusive and responsive models that also consider people and planet. This has created opportunities for the arts and business professions to work together to shift the paradigm through a Creative Re/Frame.
Creative Re/Frame proposes' an integrated approach to embedding arts and creativity into the fabric of organizations in order to promote meaning and social impact. By integrating artists and creative professionals from the ground up, for-profit, B corporations, government, and non-profit sectors have an opportunity to reframe their business models to incorporate a more holistic approach leading to more meaningful work opportunities for young people. Creative Re/Frame encourages the integration of Imagination, Comfort with Risk, and Dedication to Excellence in higher education innovation and entrepreneurship centers and in incubator- and accelerator-supported businesses as a concrete way to transition into a meaningful economy.
Creative Re/Frame is a convener for conversation in the Cultural Entrepreneurship arena and an advocate for integrating the artist and creatives as central to that conversation.
